"Things are not what they seem", Aomame repeated mentally. "What do you mean by that?" she asked with knitted brows. The driver chose his words carefully: "It's just that you're about to to do something out of the ordinary. Am I right? People don't ordinarily climb down the emergency stairs of the Metropolitan Expressway in the middle of the day- especially women."

When Aomame got off that  Toyota Crown Royal Saloon taxi cab and left Janáček's Sinfonietta playing on the stereo and rushed through the stairs just to make it in time to her "meeting" in Shibuya, she had not the slightest idea of the twist the world would have..

1984 would be left behind.. she was now new world (1Q84)

1Q84 was first published in 3 volumes between 2009 and 2010-The National Best Seller is a  dark mysterious walk through the streets of Tokyo in search of answers to the sudden occurrences. Aomame and Tengo's lives form part of the origins of the giant moon and the small green moon. Are they destined to connect or should I say re-connect? That is Murakami's master plan.

The mysterious Aomame, a woman who is entrusted with a very special task; one that requires a very rigorous training, precision and high discretion (A male wife abuser serial killer). Completing such tasks lead her to do things she is not too proud of, but ultimately lead her to Tengo, the one she never was able to let go of.

Tengo: An independent writer and professor at a cam school who lives life unattached to others and has a mistress whom he sees periodically. One day Tengo is approached by Komatsu- an editor who convinces him to give a fresh new voice to a book, “Air Chrysalis” written by a 17 year-old girl- Fuka Eri. Tengo being the non preoccupied man he is takes the offer, all for a competition of a literary prize or at least that is what he believes.

Air Chrysalis is the key to unravel the truths, secrets, and ultimately blend in all the puzzle pieces Tengo, Aomame, and the ugly "detective" Ushikawa have been hungrily searching for.

What lies ahead after the read is yet to be discovered...
